The left and its support of minority groups

It's almost axiomatic that if you can identify a minority group then the left will promote itself as the champion of that group.

Gay? Democrat/Labor/Labour Party. Black? Democrat/Labor/Labour. Female? Democrat/Labor/Labour. Hispanic? Democrat/Labor/Labour etc etc.

Equally, it's almost axiomatic that there are very few minority groups that one associates with the right.

In the US it might be evangelical Christians, though it should be remembered that they voted overwhelmingly for Jimmy Carter.

You've probably not given it much thought so you simply accept that it's just the way of things that the left's philosophy is about helping minority groups.

And you'd be wrong.

Here's a key insight for you from Uncle Jack that will help you understand the left.

The left's goal is big government, even to the point of a socialised economy.

The support of minority groups is a requirement in order for the left to get elected and then enact its economic agenda.

How many people think the left would win an election if they campaigned on their real economic agenda?

Why did Barack Obama pose as a centrist throughout the election cycle? He even said that he wouldn't raise taxes on anyone who earned under $200,000. Unbelievably, people bought it hook, line and sinker.

In Australia, Kevin Rudd ran as an 'economic conservative' yet has just announced a $27 billion dollar deficit, which is, apparently, good news because he thought it would be $32 billion.

Once in office these people's true colours are revealed. They don't govern as they campaigned.

They can't campaign as big government, big spenders because they can't win.

Ironically, it's the coalition of minority groups that makes up the core of their support who are most hurt once the left's fiscal policies are implemented.

Jack

I will modestly bet one theme and one reaction when the next Australian federal election is held.

Kevin 747 will somehow be hammering the message that he thrust billions of dollars in cheques straight into the hands of millions of registered voters - all for the greater good of course, nothing to do with any electoral outcomes;

and that vast numbers of those beneficiaries of the cash mailout and other stimulus largesse will see no connection whatsoever between what they take off the table and who is going to wind up paying those bills when they come due.

Someone else ( 'the rich' - 'business' ) always pays. No cuts to services, no tax increases, no constraints on job growth and economic performance.

We will be lucky if Ruddus Maximus is not returned to The Lodge riding in a golden chariot through a triumphal arch - the traditional honour accorded leaders a few centuries ago who entertained the urban masses with 'bread and circuses'. They eventually paid the bill for that largesse too - it ultimately was not free - see Edward Gibbon.

Never judge a politician by his words, judge him by what he does. In this case, Obama has revealed himself as a hard left socialist who intends to takeover all three branches of government through political fiat or appointment. He means to manipulate voting districts to insure permanent majorities, to impose creeping socialism that will provide "free" healthcare/daycare/housing/You name it while pushing for cap and trade that will demand the majority of income made by workers. On top of that he will magically legalize people who are here illegally despite criminal backgrounds of some and the lack of viable job skills of many. I can only hope we break the majority in midterms and take back the White House with a GROWN UP. I am sick and tired of this endless campaigning and his escapism to Europe every time the going gets rough. He needs to stop lobbying the IOC, stay home and do his job.

I think this goes to the heart of the matter, namely the fundamental deception of the left.
They claim to be concerned with the little guy, but their actions say otherwise.
The Roman Polanski debacle clearly shows the left willing to forego their principles to help one of their own. Just the latest episode of sickening leftist hypocracy.

I would replace "minority" in your post with "designated victim group". Remeber that rich white men are technically a minority, but women (a 51% majority) are a designated victim group.
